The language conference, Reading For The Love Of It, is coming up later this month and we could not be more excited to attend this annual event.
The conference always includes an impressive line-up of Canadian authors giving both keynotes and workshops. As well as other great presenters in a multitude of workshops for educators teaching in the primary, junior, intermediate or senior divisions. There are even French-specific presentations throughout each day.
Topics at the conference cover the range from reading strategies, to integrating arts and tech, to fostering success for special education students, as well as conversations on how language can be used to teach, start conversations and support refugees, LGBQT, and Indigenous people. There are also workshops around how to support mental wellness in the classroom with breathing tips.
You can see the complete descriptions here. It is recommended you plan on attending 3 sessions/workshops per day.
While at the conference, we suggest you take the time to visit the Exhibitors Display. There you will find storytellers, book publishers, authors, illustrators and more, who are there to show you wonderful resources and want to spend time talking all things language.
Dates: Thursday, February 23rd through Friday, February 24th, 2017
Location: Sheraton Centre Hotel - 123 Queen St W, Toronto, ON M5H 2M9 - located in downtown Toronto in the financial district, steps from the entertainment district and all major attractions.
