Joanne Sallay Wins a Place Among EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women

There have been many ups and downs over the recent years with the pandemic. One of the upsides is that it has ignited a fierce, creative, and innovative spirit in many people as they’ve learned to adapt to these new times. Teachers on Call could do no less, helping families ensure their children continued to learn and thrive despite the disruptions. As a result, Teachers on Call’s very own Joanne Sallay was one of twenty North American entrepreneurs selected for the EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women class of 2022.

This year’s winning women were officially recognized during EY’s Strategic Growth Forum® (SGF) in November. The nine Canadian women entrepreneurs included:

    • Yvonne Chan, Santé Circle Health, Toronto, Ontario
    • Margaret Coons, Nuts For Cheese™, London, Ontario
    • Karen Danudjaja, Blume Supply Inc., Vancouver, British Columbia
    • Lena Koke, Axess Law, Toronto, Ontario
    • Dr. Dina Kulik, Kidcrew™, Toronto, Ontario
    • Bobbie Racette, Virtual Gurus, Calgary, Alberta
    • Ainsley Rose and Hannah Todd, Londre Bodywear Inc., Vancouver, British Columbia
    • Joanne Sallay, Teachers on Call, Toronto, Ontario

EY’s program is designed to recognize these Canadian entrepreneurs who have been selected for their exceptional business acumen, unflinching determination and innovation in designing solutions. The program gives its participants access to resources, rich networks and know-how, and creates a vibrant global community of successful women entrepreneurs and inspiring peer role models who, in 2022, numbered more than 900 across 55 countries.

Our entire team is proud of Joanne for winning such a prestigious award and providing a wonderful service that helps elevate students and their families. Judy from Teachers on Call shared, “Joanne’s drive, her determination to do what’s right for kids, and her ability to lead our business through the past few tumultuous years are foundational to our success.  Joanne and Michael are truly the heartbeat of Teachers on Call.  She is truly deserving of this award, and we are so very proud to work with her.”
